How To Make Money With Email Marketing?

How To Make Money With Email Marketing

What is one of the best ways to make money online? What gives you the best return on your investment? Is it social media campaigns? Is it TV ads? Is it printed flyers? The answer to all of these is no.

Where you can make your biggest return on investment, and the most revenue, is through email marketing.

The only question is how do you do that?

We are here to give you some quick information and top tips to get you started. Follow our tips and you will be making money in no time. Let’s get stuck in.

What are you selling

What are you selling?

It may sound obvious but, if you are starting an email marketing campaign, you must have some way to make money from it. Are you selling a product or a service? Do you have a physical or digital product? Do you have something which people will take in return for money? If you do not have that, then you are simply not going to be able to make any money from an email marketing campaign.

Let’s take a look at some of the things you could sell.

Many people sell physical products. Digital products are also becoming very popular. You can provide eBooks or online training guides. Can you offer a service like a training course or coaching sessions? Are you going to run a class or a workshop? There is a multitude of options, but one thing is certain: you need something to sell.

What if you do not have a product?

If you do not have something to sell, you could always try selling someone else’s product. There are many people out there who are affiliates and provide a link to a third-party product. Do you have a website with a lot of traffic? Can you direct that traffic to a product? You may be able to make a slice of someone else’s sales.

There are many companies which offer affiliate programs. The trick is to either find the perfect product for your already established brand or find the product that you can create a brand around.

Upselling

Selling is great but what about upselling? When you upsell a premium or exclusive product, perhaps an extra service, you are getting a fabulous return on your investment. Once you have sold something to someone, selling something on top of that is basically free money.

What can you add to your product or service as a value-added product? What is the premium or exclusive version of your product?

If you have a physical product, then can you bundle it with something else as an extra? If you have a service, what would the premium version of that service look like? Can you offer something for free with a sales pitch attached to it? For example, a free eBook which triggers emails to be sent out.

Cross-sell your products

Cross-sell your products

Whenever a customer purchases a product or service, it gives you a little insight into who they are. You can use this information to entice them with other products which they may be interested in purchasing. Think about an email asking them: if you purchased this, then you may like this or something like that.

Repeat sales

What products do you have that are repeat sales products? Does your product have a refill? Does your service need to be subscribed to every year? When you are thinking about your email campaign, you should be thinking about events which trigger an email to be sent out which reminds your user of this repeat purchase.

This should be a friendly email reminder. You can also set up an email to offer an incentive to sign up again. Try sending them a coupon to ensure their repeat business.

Cart abandonment

People love to shop, but there is always that moment when they have the product in their cart and have second thoughts. People can also get distracted and step away from their electronic device. What do you do when a product is in a cart but has not yet been purchased?

Emails can be set up to be sent to the customer to prompt them to buy. You can also send a coupon if the product is sitting in the cart for a long time. Send two or three emails a day apart each, to remind the customer.

Look for referrals

Businesses work on word of mouth. Your business is no different. People often take time to write negative reviews more than they do positive reviews. You need to help your user to spread the love.

If you have an engaged client base, then sending them an email to encourage them to share a positive review is a good idea. You can also ask them to interact with you on social media.

Think about incentives for sharing, too. A great way to do this is to offer coupons or money off for having a friend sign up. What can you give that person that will entice them into sharing good news and bringing you more potential customers?

Combine all of this, and you are well on your way to making money through email marketing.
