10 Tools to Build an Email Marketing List Fast

STEP ONE, SELECT YOUR OPT-IN FORM SOFTWARE.

Before you begin to build your list, you need a way to capture your website visitor’s email addresses. This is easily done with the right opt-in form and landing page creator. There are many alternatives out there. Here are my two favorite tools to build forms:

1. Leadpages / Leadboxes

Leadpages allows you to build hosted landing pages to capture email subscriber information easily. That means, you can capture people’s email address without having your own website (although, you’ll probably prefer having a website to promote your products and services, so check out this guide on setting up a website if you haven’t already.) You can also publish a landing page to your WordPress site, on your Facebook fan page, or on a non-WordPress powered website.

All you have to do to get started is select one of Leadpage’s editable templates. Once you’ve found the perfect landing page template, you edit the information in a drag and drop editor. You don’t need to know code to build an awesome landing page. Within minutes, you can have your page live and start capturing your audience’s name and email address.

When you sign up for a membership to Leadpages, you also get access to Leadboxes (among other awesome email collection tools.) With Leadboxes you can build pop-ups and two-step opt-in forms (where someone clicks a link to join your subscriber link, and the opt-in form pops up.)

What’s great about Leadboxes is that you can build opt-in forms easily and embed it in content that’s all over the Internet. It’s a very useful tool for people that utilize content marketing strategies, since you can place an opt-in form in content outside of your own website.

Here are a few ideas to test out:

  • Try placing a Leadbox in your next guest post and benefit from visitors to someone else’s website, while promoting your content to new audiences.
  • Build opt-in forms to embed on Facebook and get social media followers to subscribe to your list.
  • Send your new subscribers a free bonus by making use of Leadpage’s digital asset delivery service.

So what’s it going to cost? Leadpages’ standard membership starts at $37 for a monthly subscription and goes down to $17 per month if paid for 2 full years. There are also Pro and Business packages that offer additional services.
